Even though the village of Warrens is a peaceful place
to live and work, the area's residents and visitors are still seeing
red! That's because Warrens is the cranberry capital of Wisconsin,
producing an average of 28.5 million pounds of cranberries annually.

Warrens, which is located in the northeast corner of
Monroe County, has the largest concentration of cranberry marshes in
the state. Over 2,000 acres of bright red berries are harvested
each year. Many of the businesses in Warrens are related to the
cranberry industry. These companies make many of the machines used
in cranberry marshes throughout the United States. |

For more than 25 years the village has hosted the
annual Warrens
Cranberry Festival in late September, drawing tens of
thousands of people from all over the United States. It was named
Wisconsin's number one community festival by the readers of
"Wisconsin Trails," and the number one place to bring a group by
the American Bus Association. Highlights of the event include
cranberry marsh tours, a cranberry recipe contest, arts & craft
booths, a farmers market, antiques/flea market and plenty of good
food and cranberry products. |
